The Ghost Teller
Spooky, mysterious, and strange tales to bring delightful shivers and inspire possibilities. Marilyn A. Hudson has been "The Ghost Teller" of Oklahoma for many years sharing stories of legend, history and her imagination. Always age appropriate!
Details:
Approx. 45-60 minutes prefer 3rd grade to 5th; 6th and up
$200.00 - add IRS mileage rate IF over1 to 1.5 hours from Cushing, Ok

2019 Space

A Universe of Tales
Throughout human history where ever people explored they took their stories with them! Along the way they crafted new stories based on new experiences and adventures. Old stories - new clothes and truly 'universal' themes!
Details:
Adaptable to time and age needs; usually 45 to 60 minutes.
1st-12th. If mixed ages, please advise so stories are developmentally appropriate $150.00 (1 hour from Cushing). Longer distances, please add standard IRS mileage rate per mile

Storyteller Relocating in Spring 2019

Marilyn A. Hudson, storyteller and author, will be relocating to the Cushing, Oklahoma area in early 2019. "I am looking forward to sharing stories, history, and writing in and around my new community. 

Hudson welcomes emails about possible school visits in the region in Spring 2019 or Fall 2019 and library programs throughout 2019.

TURN BACK TUESDAY - STORY MEMORIES








Marilyn A. Hudson Shares Skills in Storytelling for Lay Servant Ministries Training Event

On Saturday, September 15, 2018, fifteen adult students completed ten hours of training on the topic of "Telling the Stories" led by storyteller and lay servant, Marilyn A. Hudson.  Utilizing the book, Dancing with Words by Ray Buckley, the class was given a basic introduction to the art form, samples of its use across a range of age groups, practical how-to's and practice in forming and delivering a story. Some went from having never told a story to an audience to sharing several over the course of the training event!

FLETCHER BOOK CLUB HOSTED STORYTELLING IN JULY


The ELGIN CHRONICLE of July 2018 captured Marilyn A. Hudson in full storytelling mode for the Fletcher Book Club, a wonderful program for area children and adults. "Hudson Entertains at Fletcher Book Club", Elgin Chronicle (July 13, 2018).  Using costumes, humor, and delightful stories of Oklahoma history Hudson entertained and conveyed values of courage, family love, and kindness to coincide with the book club curriculum.

Master , and nationally known, storyteller Elizabeth Ellis will be on hand as featured teller, along with new and emerging voices of Oklahoma's own story artists. It will be at the Eastlake Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 700 SW 134th, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  Join storytelling art lovers on June 1 & 2, 2018 for the festival and enjoy as listener or teller - story swaps, table talks, concerts, and workshops.  Join the state's premier storytelling organization, The Territory Tellers and support the art of the oral story in Oklahoma!
