Ladies and the Law

Long before the first women patrolled the streets in cars, their early sisters of the law, worked in a different world but often achieved the same end results.  They carried the badge, kept the law, helped those in need, and built the safety of the community.  One woman, offered a badge, a gun and a billy club, turned them down as being 'beneath the dignity of a woman.'  Others, were unafraid to point a weapon at a deadly criminal and enforce the law.  Many served to protect the innocent and bring civilization into the wildest forgotten corners of city crime.
